I was talking to my youngest daughter today about feelings, more specifically about being afraid of making people mad, getting in trouble, etc. She had some very wise words for a young woman. She said, "I used to be like that, I wanted to make everyone happy, and do everything right. I could never even take up for myself. I started thinking about end times and how Christians will be killed for being Christians and (I) DECIDED that I needed to get a backbone. I didn't want to be 'afraid' to be who I am and have to go to the fiery pits because I was 'afraid' to stand up for myself and the God that loves me."
There was more to our conversation and who knows, the rest of it might end up being another blog lol. What my mind has been on this evening is we need to DECIDE, we need to CHOOSE how we want to be. She took action in her life to make sure she did not deny God.
We all need to take action in our lives. We need to be prayed up and battle ready because we DO NOT know what we will have to face. I see a lot of going back and forth Pre-trib, Mid-trib, Post-trib. I'm not going to argue that in this blog post. What I am going to say is no matter when Jesus comes back, NO ONE said we would not have trials. NO ONE promised that bad things wouldn't happen to us just because we are Christian. What God did promise is that HE would be with us.
Look at Daniel, look at Shadrach, Meshach and Abednigo, Jesus, Peter, Paul, etc. etc. etc. They were following God, they were true believers and yet they suffered. I hear a lot of people say, we are going to be raptured out and not feel the wrath of God. What about the wrath of satan? and who says we won't be in a battle? We are in one everyday, that's why we have to put on our armor every single day.
The Bible says in Ephesians 6:10-13, 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
We are in the battle of our lives, for our souls. We are fighting the powers already of this dark world.
There may come a day when you have to stand up for God, will you be able to? Think of the shootings that have been going on. We are precious children of God, however, look at Job in Job 1:1, 1 There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil. He was also a precious child of God and in the end God restored everything to Job, because He stood. When the day of evil came upon him, he stood his ground and when he had done all he could, he just stood. BUT, he went through a battle, one most of us would not be able to withstand.
We have to decide today for each daily battle that we are going through. The Bible says, "choose this day who you will serve" in the book of Joshua. Don't wait around until a fiery trial comes upon you. Decide today. So if you end up in the lion's den, or walking in the fiery furnace, looking down a gun barrel with someone saying deny Jesus or die you can stand knowing that He died for you and He will be there to bring you home. Things are wrapping up, I've never seen or heard of so many prophecies coming to pass as there are in our life time but it doesn't mean it's over. It's the beginning of birth pains. (I'll let you look that up :-)
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.
God bless you and love to all.
Prov. 1:7 The fear of the Lord IS the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. When I started this blog, it was just a way of journaling my thoughts, however, God had other plans for it and all I can say is "Lord, use me. Make me a willing, available vessel for You in Jesus name". I pray these blogs speak to you as the Lord speaks to me. God bless.

Here I am Lord, use me
They say with age comes wisdom and sometimes that is true. There are a couple of things I have learned for sure. Number one: Never pray for patience unless you are willing to let God teach you. Patience is not given, it is learned-the hard way (but that's a blog for another time, lol). Number two: Don't say, "here I am Lord, use me", unless you really really mean it. Because He will! He will send you places you've never gone before, and have you doing things you've never done before. Not against your will, God would never do that but you gave Him the go ahead when you said, "here I am Lord, use me".
Were you ever somewhere, (school, church, work, etc.), when they asked for volunteers? Maybe it meant extra points on a grade, or a chance to help out at church, or extra money at work, so you volunteer. You get picked, only to find out all they needed was someone to pick up all the smelly gym shoes or clean the bathrooms and no one else volunteered!! Then, later, because you were the only one that volunteered the first time, they didn't ask for volunteers the second time around, they just came right to you and gave you the task. Not only would no one else volunteer, no one else wanted to do those nasty jobs, so the teacher, or your pastor, or your boss picked you because you were so willing the last time. Sometimes it seems that way with God. You say, "here I am Lord, use me", and He has you picking up trash at the church -or- cleaning the bathrooms, or sends you to talk to your worst nemesis. You stop and ask, why me God? Can't you send someone else, I want to do something BIG for You, I want to be a light for you. What can any of us do that is greater than He who gave His very life to save us? The next time you are asked to clean the bathrooms or some other unglorified task remember that Jesus washed the feet of His disciples! Read John 13:14-16, 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
What we fail to realize many times is, there are lots of little ways God can and will use us if we just let Him. You can't put a limit on God, you can't put conditions on Him. He asks us to be faithful in the small things. Those supposed menial tasks aren't menial at all when you are promoting God's work and His word. The battle is waged and we each need to do our part to be prepared. We don't know God's plan or intention when He uses us, but He does. He can already see the outcome, He knows He picked just the right person to do the job. Sad to say, many won't do those little tasks that God sets before them and because of their rebelliousness He doesn't use them in the bigger things and they wonder why. Read the parable in Matthew 25 about the Master who gave his servants talents (money) to see what they would do with it. It also says in verse 15 that he gave to each according to the several ability, meaning he gave them what he thought they could handle. That is what the Lord does, he gives to us what He knows we are capable of doing. There is much to do being about God's business, many little things as well as big to be done in God's name. To be an active child of God you must proclaim Jesus as the Son of God, you must be willing to follow as well as lead, be a good "servant". At the end of the day we want to hear God say, Matthew 25: 21 ".........Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord". If God asks, you must be willing to be used of God and willing to say, "here I am Lord, use me", and mean it.
God bless and keep you
