A Lie is Still a Lie Even If Everyone Believes It...

A lie is still a lie even if everyone believes it and the truth is still the truth even if no one believes it... (author unknown)
Jesse and I were talking this morning and from His post and our conversation the Lord revealed something to me.  If we know God's Word ourselves and have a true relationship with Him, we cannot be deceived in these last days.  He will reveal truth to us and He will shape us and hone us into His image "IF" we allow Him too.
Some of the way He does that is by giving wisdom to others.  They share that wisdom with us. WE pray about it, READ HIS WORD, talk to Him (the Father) about it and He will reveal the truth of it to us.  (We do NOT just accept it because they believe it or because we "think" they are a good christian, or THEY have read the Bible (and we haven't)).
We get so hung up on believing that we already know everything that not only do we NOT listen but we don't talk to God about it, we don't open our hearts to the truths that God wants us to know.
Reminds me a little of teenagers.  Rebellious teenagers!
Please hear me here.  I am not talking about believing every "wind of doctrine" that comes out of man's mouth.  I am talking about listening to the Holy Spirit, listening to God when He is trying to teach us.  When He is trying to take us into a higher, closer, more personal relationship with Him.
There are so many that claim to be christian that don't even know God much less have a relationship with Him.
Think about this:  If you gave your spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, child, parents as much attention as you give God, would they really truly know you loved them?  If every time they tried to tell you something about themselves you turned away and said, "that's not true, I know you don't feel that way or I know you don't like that, or aren't like that", how long would they stay around you?  How long would they keep YOU in THEIR life?
Have you ever tried to talk to someone you love to clarify something they thought you said or did, only to have them not listen to you and go right on believing their own opinion instead of the truth?  So much so that you talked to someone else they trusted to try and get their help to reach them?  Sometimes I believe God does that too.  He tries to tell us something and we aren't receptive, aren't listening so He teaches someone else and they listen and then they share that with us as well as others.  Now it comes down to: are we still going to go on believing our own thoughts or are we going to pray about it and listen to the voice of the Lord?
Again, I'm not saying to believe everything you hear or see.  God wants us to "test the spirits".  He wants us to come to the table WITH Him.
What I am saying is, "test God".  Jesse wrote something that got into my Spirit about the "elect of God".  We can ALL be God's elect if we listen, KNOW His Word, KNOW HIM.  He laid everything we need to know out in His Word.  It's not "just good morals to live by" it's HIS Holy Word.  In it, He "says what He means and means what He says".  The one thing that stands out to me is what He says in Matthew 7:13-14, He says, "
13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it."
What does that tell you?  That means that what the majority believes, what the majority repeats, what the majority does is NOT the narrow (or right) gate.
I love you all, please, this is what I'm asking and praying for you.  If I or any other child of God tells you something, even if it goes against man's doctrine or what you've always "heard" all your life.  Take it to God, pray about it, fast.  READ, STUDY, PRAY.  We don't pass on what the Lord gives us to be a point of arguing or brow beating or judging.  We pass it on because the Lord has taught us and told us too and we must obey.  We DID NOT accept what man said, we questioned it, took it to God, prayed about it, read His word, sometimes if it was something ingrained in us we had to fast.  Not always because God hadn't given us an answer but sometimes because we kept rejecting the truth He was giving us.
Remember:  A lie is still a lie even if everyone believes it and the truth IS STILL the truth even if NO ONE believes it.
Love you all.  God bless you.
