(NOTE: This isn't just about people, it's also about habits and unhealthy choices from the past).
Something God put on my mind today. I pray it is helpful to someone. I get so sad when I see people repeating the same mistakes over and over again and I have been one of those people. You can only hit your head against a brick wall so many times, the bricks will never cry out in pain, but you will. Some people don't know how to leave well enough alone. j/s. The past is the past for a reason, if someone or something is in your past, consider it a blessing! They weren't meant to be in the here and now or in your future. When God delivers you from someone or something, STAY DELIVERED. No one said it was easy but obviously God knows what he is doing a lot better than we do. I see the quote, "If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it" all the time but what some people don't realize is that, "If YOU bring you to it, You can call on God to bring you through it, but don't blame Him for where you are if you put yourself there. We are free agents with free will. Just like a parent sometimes God will allow us to go through trials of our own making, to make us stronger, to show us we aren't perfect, to help us lean on Him more and ourselves less. Yes, if God brings you to it, He will definitely bring you through it. And if HE has done that for you when you put the burden on yourself, thank Him, and MOVE ON. Ephesians 6:12 tells us we don't struggle against people but against rulers of darkness. This means spirits, don't fool yourself into thinking those don't exist today. One of the meanest most destructive spirits I can think of is Jezebel. She tried to destroy God's chosen in the Bible and still today she destroys homes, lives, ministries. But back to leaving the past alone, learn from it, grow from it and WALK AWAY from it, you don't live there anymore. A leopard can't change it's spots and the devil "won't" change his ways. He is out to destroy you and make no mistake he knows what will reach you. Take control away from him, shut the door on the past. God brought you through it because you are important to Him, He loves you with a love that no person can imitate. He loves you with a love that can fill the deepest emptiness left over from a habit. He loves you enough to deliver you not only from the devil, Jezebel and a host of other demons, but also yourself.
