Sometimes He Calms the Storm

More confirmation, I enjoyed this so much I had to look up the lyrics, If I knew how to place sound clips I would list it, I will have to learn to do that.  In the meantime enjoy reading and listen to what you are reading :)
I don't know who sings it so if you know, please feel free to leave it in the comments.

SOMETIMES HE CALMS THE STORM
Troubled waters came my way
The angry storms grew near
I prayed for God to speak the word, to make it disappear.
It seemed the waves would not obey the master's call for peace
But then the Lord spoke to my soul, reminded me he had control
And said this time , his word was meant for me.
CHORUS;
Sometimes he calms the storm , sometimes he calms me
Sometimes the storm still rages on but i feel the sweetest peace
It's such a joy to know , that my Lord knows just what i need ....
Sometimes he calms the storm sometimes he calms me.
Circumstance may overtake, and bring me to my knees
But when i feel i cannot cope with this life's troubled seas
I call on him who's voice can still much greater storms than these
His words bring peace into my soul when he says child I'm in control and with one touch he calms the storm in me."

Need Washing

I don't know who wrote this but it has such a good message that I had to repost it. If you know the author, please feel free to give them credit in the comments. God bless

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout.. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.
We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.
The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in 'Mom let's run through the rain,' she said.
'What?' Mom asked.
'Let's run through the rain!' She repeated
'No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit,' Mom replied.
This young child waited about another minute and repeated: 'Mom, let's run through the rain,'
'We'll get soaked if we do,' Mom said.
'No, we won't, Mom.. That's not what you said this morning,' the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm.
This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?
'Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, 'If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!'
The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear anything but the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes.

Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith..
'Honey, you are absolutely right.. Let's run through the rain. If GOD lets us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing,' Mom said.
Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case.. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.
And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.
Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories...So, don't forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories every day. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.

I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Feel free to send this to the people you'll never forget and remember to also send it to the person who sent it to you. It's a short message to let them know that you'll never forget them.
If you don't send it to anyone, nothing bad is going to happen, it just means you're in a hurry.
Take the time to live!!!
Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you'll need each other -- and don't forget to run in the rain!

Father God, I do need washing. Forgive and wash away my sins. Help me to live not the way the flesh wants to live Father but the way You want me to live. Help me to be a light to a lost and dying world. Give us a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit. I thank You for all those You have placed in my life, family and friends, and ask that today You touch them in a mighty way and answer each prayer request for their needs Lord. Give them integrity in their decisions and peace in their circumstances. Give us this day our daily bread. Help us to draw close to You so that You may draw close to us. Let us abide in You and Your word abide in us. Thank you for friends who will forward these messages to me to give me just a minute to reflect on You. To some it may be a simple little story but to me Father it was a reminder that I do need washing, I need daily cleansing to be forgiven of my sins and be acceptable to stand before You. I give You all praise, honor and glory. In Jesus mighty name. Amen

his servant, tawanab

Be Anxious for Nothing

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus..- Phillipians 4:4-7

Rejoice! God has no limits, He cannot be overcome, He cannot be defeated and through Him, neither can we. He tells us in His word to be careful for nothing, be anxious for nothing. He can and will supply our every need. What awesome power He has and He is just waiting for us to call on Him to show what He can do.

Over the past year and a half I've seen just a portion of what God can do. I've learned to lean on Him and that He truly can and will provide my every need. Sometimes it takes being down to nothing to stand back, be still and let the Lord work. Sometimes our own stubbornness, our own need to "fix" things gets in the way of God fixing them. The awesome thing is He allows us to make our own decisions, our own mistakes and then He is right there when we come crying because we have messed everything up to the point we can no longer even try to fix it. In a single instant He can set everything right again. What love! What patience!

He gives us everything we need and most of what we want, sometimes even when it's not good for us. Like any parent, He listens and listens when we ask for things and even though it might not be in our best interest He will relent and let us have what we ask for because just like children we keep asking and asking. We can ask God for His perfect will in our lives or we can ask for His permissable will. The ideal would be to have His perfect will.

You can hold God to His word. He says He will never leave us or forsake us, He won't. He says He will provide our every need, He will. He says we matter to Him more than the sparrows and the lilies of the field, we do. Cast your cares on Him for He cares for you. Don't wait (like I did) until you are down to nothing, try Him now. Ask Him for His perfect will in your life. Ask Him to help you "cast your cares on Him" and leave them there.

Worrying will not add a day to your life, it will not solve the problems you have going on, just the opposite in fact, it can shorten your days. God does not intend for us to worry, have fear, have doubts. Getting to the point where you can let go and let God isn't easy, I know that. Been there, done that, but it can be done, you can do it. Get into His word, seek your answers there, spend daily time with God. In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God, He will give you peace, He will provide all your needs and His shoulders are wide enough to carry your heaviest burden.
God bless and keep you.
If you have prayer requests please leave them in the comments. I would love to pray for you.
Pray for the peace of Israel.

I Can Do All Things

One of my favorite verses in the Bible, (I have many favorites), and probably the one I use the most in my daily life is: Phillipians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I can do all things through Christ because He does give me strength. I am only human and sometimes I forget that. There are days, I throw up my hands and say, "God, I can't do this anymore!" He is there to remind me that I can. When I have those kinds of days He comforts me from His word: Matthew 11:28, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Does it make me any less a christian or any less a child of God because I have days when I'm weak, tired and worn? No, it only means I'm human and need to lean on God for strength. I still trust Him in all things and He alone knows my heart.

It seems God gives me a word everyday by leading me to verses that are laden with just what I need to hear from Him at the time. Yesterday's word was peace, today's word is strength. He reminds me in His word that He will never put more on me than I can take. 1 Corinthians 10:13, There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Sometimes I wonder what He knows that I don't, lol. Then I am reminded that He knows ALL. During my toughest times, He has always been there to get me through them. He gives me the strength to endure and continue my journey. I may not realize it right at that moment but I can always look back in hindsight and see where He worked in my life to control those troubling situations.

I can do all things through Jesus who is my strength, strength in the face of adversity, strength in the face of ridicule, strength in times of stress and strength to make it through each day that I would not be able to face alone. He is my Savior and my best friend.

My prayer for today is that you know Him as your Savior and best friend. That you have a personal relationship with Him and know His strength and peace. No one can do for you what the Lord can. Visit with Him everyday, take time to spend time with Him. Draw strength from Him and He will give you peace. Turn everything over to Him, He said in Matthew 11:30, For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. There is nothing to heavy or to hard for Him to bear.
I pray that you too can say, I can do all things.....
God bless

Leave them with love

I've only got a minute as my husband and I are headed to Texas. His mom is in ICU and it doesn't look good BUT, we have a wondrous God and we are praying, not necessarily for healing but for His will for her. She has had a long battle with diabetes, Congestive Heart failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and a few other problems that have had her in and out of the hospital continuously. She and God knows what she wants and what He wants. We just have to wait and see.

That's the hard part. Giving up a loved one when they are ready to go. I've been there with my mom, my dad and my husband before. It's never easy. It doesn't get easier but knowing they are ready, knowing they want to see Jesus and they are just plain tired gives you a sense of peace, not at first sometimes when the grief is so strong but later when you think of them and remember them. My dad actually told me before he died that he saw Jesus and that Jesus had told him he would be coming home soon. Within two days he did go home, peacefully. What joy to know that he is in Heaven waiting. My mom did the same thing. My husband at the time had slipped into a coma but we talked some before and he accepted Jesus before he went. My point I guess is that for the believer, it's just as hard to let go of a loved one but when you know that loved one is looking forward to stepping from this life into the next to live with Jesus, you can't begrudge their leaving you behind.

For my mother-in-law, I hope it isn't her time but again that is up to God. I haven't gotten to know her very well since she lives so far away so I can only hope that her life is right with God, (I know at one time it was), and that she is ready because she is heavily sedated and we can't talk to her. So my prayer for her is that she is ready and of course we all hope this isn't the time but only time will tell.

We will be gone a few days so I won't be posting, hopefully all will be well and we will be back on Monday. God bless all.

Don't forget when you leave your love ones, no matter for how short a time, leave them with love, you never know when you will get the chance or IF you will get the chance to tell you that you love them again. We are none of us promised that last breath.

Seasons Come and Seasons Go

Many people my age (let's just say older than dirt lol) will remember a time when the changing of seasons was predictable and easy to distinguish without looking at a calendar or being told. The beginning of fall, the leaves would start changing colors, the green of the grass would start gradually fading into brown, the weeds would finally start dying and most usually (here in Oklahoma anyway) it would get dry. As fall progressed the temperatures would drop and the weather would start getting colder. Next, winter would start setting in, predictions of snow flurries, snow storms, sleet and ice would be given and sometimes it happened, sometimes not, but it still stayed cold, you could still tell it was winter. Then winter would start easing out, the temperatures would increase a little, the wind usually would pick up some. Old timers had a couple of sayings that you don't hear much anymore: 1) If March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb (meaning if the winds were high and blew a lot at the beginning of March, it would calm down and be pretty at the end of March and into April, and 2) April showers bring May flowers. You could count on the weather doing what it was supposed to do when it was supposed to do it with few exceptions. Who of us oldsters don't remember the "dog days of summer"? When summer came in the temperatures were tolerable until mid-late July usually through early August when they would climb up into the 90's rarely above 100. Then as August began going out and September, Labor Day rolled in the temperatures would start getting tolerable again. Warm days and cool nights but still not to cool.
In this day and time, it's hard to know when seasons come and when they go. As they say, the times they are a changing. It can be 23 degrees one day in November and 80 the next. It can stay warm enough for a week or two so that the buds on the trees are fooled into popping out and then without warning freeze and kill them. It's getting to the point that you can't tell what season it is and neither can the flowers, trees and grass!

Many people are watching what's going on in the world today and those that know even a little about the Bible believe they see the signs of the end drawing near and they would be correct. However, its not just now coming about. It's been coming for a while. God made sure the prophets wrote about it in the Bible and laced it with plenty of warnings so people would have plenty of time. The way the seasons run together is just one of those signs.
Everywhere you look and everything you see and read right now says, "change is coming", heralding the appointing of the new President. Those of us that have read "the Book" know that change has already been coming. Seasons are changing, things are changing. This world as we know it is changing but the change is towards the 2nd heralding, the 2nd coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:1-17 :
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. 9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? 10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. 11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. 12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. 13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God. 14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past. 16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

So for those who think change is coming, look again, change has been coming. This time Jesus is coming back to stay.

Seasons come and seasons go and things do change, but the Word of God never changes. Be ready.
